Strengthening security: Sofigate is granted ISO 27001 certification
Press release:
Business technology company Sofigate has successfully achieved ISO 27001 certification for information security management as of February 2024. With the certificate, the company aims to expand its operations in the security and defence industry.
The leading Nordic business technology company Sofigate announces that it has achieved the world’s most well-known standard for managing information security. ISO 27001 outlines the requirements for an information security management system. Encompassing processes, technology, and people, the standard facilitates the protection and management of all organisational information through effective and continuous risk management.
ISO 27001 certification is a significant asset in the consulting world. By achieving the certificate, Sofigate wants to illustrate its commitment to protecting its customers’ data and building long-term partnerships.
“Cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important for our business. This certification is essential, especially as we work in the public sector and aim to expand our operations in the security and defence industry. With this achievement, we are in a stronger position and can better demonstrate our ability to manage cybersecurity risks,” says Markku Hugg, Business Executive at Sofigate.
Organisations that meet the standard’s requirements undergo a rigorous audit process by a third-party auditor on a regular basis. The certification is also a mandatory requirement in many tender invitations.
Commitment to protecting customer data
Sofigate has worked to achieve the certificate for the past two years. During this time, the company has implemented numerous changes and enhancements in its processes, IT, and security management, resulting in improved resilience against various cyber incidents.
“This certification is not just a badge of honour; it represents our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of information security,” says Olli Haukkovaara, Chief Security Officer at Sofigate.
“This certificate is a testament to Sofigate’s collective effort and dedication to high quality. As we move forward, we will continue to uphold these standards, ensuring that we remain leaders in our field and champions of information security.”
Sofigate continues to evaluate and enhance its information security measures to protect client data.
“The ISO 27001 certification is not the end goal but a stepping stone in our process of continual improvement. It encourages us to ensure we remain at the forefront of industry standards,” Haukkovaara says.
