Should I join the BT Village?
Business Technology Village is a community of people driven by an entrepreneurial mindset.
They are business technology professionals, who are not employed by Sofigate, but have one or more of the following drivers:
- Self-employed but want to have a community to work with
- Working or willing to work in our assignments as a contractor
- Willing to demonstrate competence
- Working for another organisation or ecosystem but willing to take part in other consulting assignments as well
- A small or start-up company that lacks the opportunity to establish itself with large companies

BT Village provides expertise beyond Sofigate’s core strategy, delivering critical skills needed to empower our customers’ success.
BT Village is a partner community of freelancers and subcontractors integrated within our business.
It offers our clients a talent pool, where we identify specific expertise for projects based on customer requests – and offers the freelancers an opportunity for engaging projects and a network of growth.
Why
We know that not everyone works the same way. That’s why we want to provide a flexible way to engage in customer assignments that align with your availability and interests.
BT Village offers you the opportunity to participate in our client projects without requiring a direct employment relationship.
You will retain the freedom to work with other employers too, and you can also decline assignments that are not up your alley.
How
Anyone with a Finnish business ID (y-tunnus) can join the BT Village.
We ensure that your onboarding process will be smooth. Villagers, who have joined the community and completed the BT Standard certification, will be listed for our sales to find matching assignments.
What does it take to become a Villager
If you meet the following criteria, you can join the BT Village community and sign our General Agreement:
- Preference to work as a freelancer
- Valid Finnish business ID (y-tunnus)
- Previous consulting, training, or advisory experience
- Solid experience in leadership or expert positions within one or more of IT or business domains
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in Finnish and/or English
- Previous knowledge or willingness to learn about BT Standard as a framework
How to join?
1.
Register into our database
Register via the BT Village form.
Our Village Leads review your registration and assess if your profile aligns with the ecosystem’s & customer needs
2.
Survey
After reviewing your registration, we will request you to complete your skills and competencies profile.
3.
Initial Discussion
If your skills match our needs, we’ll contact you to schedule a meeting to discuss what freelancing with us entails.
4.
Decision to Join
After the discussion, you get to decide whether you want to proceed with joining the BT Village freelancer community.
5.
Becoming a member
If you decide to join, we’ll send you our General Agreement to sign. After that, you’ll enter our onboarding process and you can submit any additional materials, like your cv for customers.
